Gov. Ron DeSantis isn’t building a Florida for All. He’s building a Florida for Ron. Every action he takes, and every decision he makes is geared toward helping his political ambitions.

As COVID-19 ravages Florida, DeSantis has jumped into national culture wars by courting anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorists, banning mask requirements and threatening to withhold pay from school officials who try to implement them. He’s also started picking fights with the White House to build his national political profile ahead of 2024.
