Hello,

At the end of this email, I’m going to ask for your help to reach our August fundraising goal. But first, let’s back up a bit and talk about the work Democrats have been doing in the Senate and our path forward from here.

We’ve worked hard over the past several weeks to pass the historic infrastructure bill and a framework for the budget reconciliation package. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to take on climate change and create millions of good-paying jobs with the Build Back Better effort. That’s what future generations and hardworking people like you deserve.

So I pushed to make sure this effort included acting on climate change with the urgency it deserves. We’ve included a clean electricity standard for utility companies, and are working to include an efficiency rebates program for household appliances — an effort that will help reduce carbon emissions and put money back in hardworking folks’ pockets.

All in all, the Build Back Better packages will invest billions in New Mexico. We’re talking the biggest federal investment in infrastructure and social programs since the Great Depression. That’s exactly what we need as we work to get to the other side of this pandemic and address the climate crisis.

The second half of this effort - the budget reconciliation package - wouldn’t be possible without the Democratic majority. That’s why I’ve also been helping fundraise for my colleagues in tough battleground races, like Senator Mark Kelly and Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock. We can’t afford to lose even one seat. If we do, we’ll risk losing the Democratic majority that achieved vaccination targets, cut childhood poverty in half, and everything in between.

I’ll be frank: Fundraising has slowed down in recent days. But we can’t afford to fall behind if we’re going to continue this important work and defend our razor-thin Senate majority. Will you chip in any amount you can toward our goal to help us catch up on fundraising before the end of the month?

Thanks for your support. Whether you donate $5, $10, or $25, your support makes all the difference.
