This is the fifth in a series of emails highlighting some of our strong Democrats who are running for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2021. I hope you’ll take a look and consider joining me in support of these great candidates.
Friend,
I’m writing to you again today about three more excellent candidates running to represent their districts in the Virginia House of Delegates. These candidates bring a determined focus to delivering on behalf of their constituents, so I hope you’ll make a split donation to support their campaigns and help keep Virginia blue this November.
The first Delegate I’d like to tell you about is Alex Askew. Alex has served Virginia Beach in the House of Delegates since January of 2020. In his first term, Alex had nine bills signed into law, with seven of them receiving unanimous bipartisan support. Some of these bills include expanding workers’ compensation coverage for firefighters, implementing a lead-water testing process in public schools, and creating the first dedicated source of funding for Hampton Roads Transit.

Alex was born and raised in Virginia Beach by his mother, a public school teacher, and graduated from Hampton University. Before he was elected, Alex worked as a Chief of Staff in the Virginia House of Delegates, helping to craft groundbreaking legislation including Medicaid expansion, affordable housing expansion, and school safety initiatives.
Please chip in whatever you can to support Alex Askew’s re-election campaign to represent the 85th District in Virginia’s House of Delegates.
The next Delegate I’d like to highlight is Nancy Guy: Nancy grew up in a Navy family in Virginia Beach where she attended elementary and high school. She then graduated from William & Mary and attended University of Virginia Law School. She’s passionate about supporting public education and has served two terms on the School Board, 12 years on the Virginia Education Foundation Board, two terms as President of the PTSA at Virginia Beach’s largest high school, a member of the Virginia Beach City Council of PTAs, and a member of the Legislative Committee of the Virginia Beach PTA.

Nancy believes that a quality public education system is the very backbone of democracy and will do everything in her power to channel proper resources to it. In the Virginia House of Delegates, she has served on the Education Committee, the Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee, and was appointed by the Speaker as one of three state representatives for Virginia on the multi-state Chesapeake Bay Commission.
Please chip in whatever you can to support Nancy Guy’s re-election campaign to represent Virginia Beach in the 83rd District in Virginia’s House of Delegates.
The final candidate is Delegate Clint Jenkins: Clint is a native of Suffolk. After finishing high school at John F. Kennedy High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. When he returned to Suffolk, he earned his BA at Saint Leo University and continued his graduate studies at Southeastern Baptist Theology Seminary.

Clint has represented Suffolk in the Virginia House of Delegates since January of 2020. As Delegate, he’s fought to help his community recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and to strengthen our democracy by lessening the influence of money in our electoral system.
Please chip in whatever you can to support Clint Jenkin’s re-election campaign to represent the 76th District in Virginia’s House of Delegates.
These leaders have spent their careers in service to the communities they grew up in. I’m proud to support them. And I hope you’ll join me in helping Virginia’s progress toward strong, thoughtful leadership in Richmond.
Thanks for being a strong supporter of Democrats across Virginia.
