My name is Demetrius Minor. I am the new National Manager for Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty.
I am eager to work with you in the efforts to repeal the death penalty and build solutions to our harmful criminal justice system. Within my role, I seek to educate and mobilize conservatives around the systematic flaws with the death penalty. I'm also a preacher, advocate, relationship builder, and a writer who brings a strong track record of building bridges and winning campaigns. In previous roles, I've worked in partnership with the NAACP, Urban League, and others to build bipartisan support and pass legislation.
The fight has been long and arduous, but a world absent of the death penalty is still within sight.
It is my understanding that you have been a key ally in our efforts and I look forward to continuing that partnership.
I came to oppose the death penalty as a young man in 2006 when a pastor challenged me to be "pro-life all the way." This belief crossed over to my small-government, conservative mindset that the government had no business holding these types of powers that were overreaching and overbearing.
It is with this mindset that I'd like to bring to your attention to an upcoming virtual webinar hosted in a bipartisan form entitled "Politics and the Death Penalty," on Saturday, August 28th from 11:30am to 1:30am CDT.

The heightened concern about the death penalty is about a journey. One that you and I will take together. It will consist of trust and hope. The trust that your voice will help bring change in your community and the hope that your community will join us in changing our world for the better.
