Saturday, August 28 - 4 PM: Chapter General Meeting

Join us this Saturday 4-6PM for Atlanta DSA's monthly General Meeting! We will hear the latest from our chapter's campaigns and committees, discuss current events in the chapter, and debate and vote on resolutions (Resolution Amendments are due Wednesday August 25 11:59PM). All members are encouraged to attend, and interested non-members are welcome!

This meeting will be primarily held in-person in a hybrid format, with a livestream available for members to remotely participate. If you are unable to attend and would like to appoint someone to vote on your behalf, proxy voter designations are due on Friday August 27 11:59PM.

If you are attending in person, please wear a mask unless you are speaking at the microphone!

🚨 Nabisco Workers on Strike! 🚨

Nabisco workers striking outdoors with protest signs and fists raised

The workers of BCTGM Local 42 are striking and holding a 24/7 picket for a good contract and an end to international exploitation and outsourcing of jobs. Click here to see more from the union.

We are launching a Solidarity Fund for the striking workers at the Nabisco Distribution Center in Norcross! Donate at atldsa.org/strikefund. All funds will go to striking workers, who aren’t receiving paychecks while on strike! To help at the picket line over the coming weeks, sign up at atldsa.org/nabisco! Please donate, ask your friends and family to donate, and share on social media! Tweet here.

City Council is planning to lease 381 acres of forested land to the Atlanta Police Foundation for the purpose of building a massive, privately funded cop training facility! DARC is organizing to #StopCopCity!

We're taking to the streets around Lang-Carson Park. While City Council is starting to feel public pressure, many residents are still unaware of Joyce Sheperd's proposed ordinance due to its undemocratic nature. We're letting them know by knocking on doors, passing out lit, and informing them on how they can get involved and have their voices heard!

We'll meet at the Lang-Carson Park August 28 @ 10 AM!

No canvassing experience needed. Please wear a mask, and bring a friend! Water and snacks will be provided!

Saturday, August 21 - 8 PM: Eat, Drink, and be Marxist!

Do you want to help get a real representative of the people in Atlanta's City council? The Rogelio campaign is going strong and we've got another canvass weekend coming up. Join us this Saturday and Sunday so we can get a socialist in office!

🚗 Carpool! 🚗

Need a ride to an upcoming Atlanta DSA event? Just go to atldsa.org/carpool and fill out the form! Based on your zip code, your relevant branch captain(s) will receive an email with your request so they can help arrange a ride for you with someone local.

Huge thanks to comrade Migal M. for creating this tool. This is true chapter mutual aid!
