I just wanted to let you know that yesterday the House took a giant step forward in the fight to protect voting rights for every American by passing the John Robert Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. And not a single House Republican voted in favor of it.

It’s clear they don't give a damn about freedom so I don't want to hear them lecture us about liberty ever again.

It’s insulting how Republicans repeatedly cry liberty over wearing masks while COVID cases continue to rise, yet worship at the altar of voter suppression.

Instead of Republicans telling their constituents the truth about wearing a mask and getting the vaccine, the GOP has persistently focused on passing Jim Crow voter suppression bills to limit Black and Brown folks' access to the ballot box under the guise of “state's rights.”

This level of extremism shows how desperate Republicans are to reclaim power in 2022. But we are not going backward.

Let me be clear: Republicans who try to continue to suppress the vote, who try to turn back the clock with Jim Crow-like oppression, who try to make America hate again will fail when the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act becomes law. Democracy will prevail, and good trouble will win the day.
