Dear John,
This weekend the Star Tribune, Minnesota’s major newspaper, published an important editorial1 calling for the protection of the Boundary Waters and for leaders from the Biden administration and Congress to take action as soon as possible.
You can help make sure decision-makers heed this growing call to protect America’s most-visited Wilderness from sulfide-ore copper mining. Ask the President and Congress to protect the Boundary Waters.
From the editorial: “...ensure that science, not a Chilean mining conglomerate's political influence, drives decisions about the fate of the beloved BWCA. That logical action: completing a halted two-year study of copper mining's risks to the BWCA watershed. The study was begun during the Obama administration and could have led to a 20-year mining moratorium on federal lands near the BWCA, as well as paved the way for Congress to enact permanent protections.”
Forward this action alert to your friends and networks as well - let’s get their elected officials on-board too! For the Wilderness, Sam Chadwick Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters
P.S. Momentum is growing - keep it going by asking the President and Congress to support permanent protection for the Boundary Waters from dangerous copper mining.
