Hi John,
I hope this note finds you well and you are enjoying the final few weeks of summer with your loved ones. I've had a busy couple of weeks here in Kansas meeting with community leaders, health care workers, and hardworking Kansans.
Recently, I visited St. Peter's CME Church in Wyandotte County to see their community-led vaccine event. I'm so grateful for the faith leaders and public health officials who are dedicating their time to vaccinating Kansans. With cases of COVID-19 rising and kids heading back to school, getting vaccinated is how we can slow the spread of this virus and get back to normal as soon as possible.
I also joined two doctors last week at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City to hear their stories from the frontlines. Right now, six of Kansas' major hospitals are nearing capacity. Our healthcare workers are exhausted. I'm determined to reduce the strain on our hospital systems by supporting vaccination efforts, expanding Medicaid, and rushing relief to our healthcare workers.
Last Tuesday, I was in Southwest Wichita at the Gavilon grain elevator to announce ten projects totaling more than $5.2 million in Short Line Rail Improvements. These infrastructure projects connect Kansas grain businesses with new regions and customers and support our farmers and our agriculture industry. Investing in our infrastructure strengthens our growing economy, and I am proud to see these projects take off.
I'm fighting for all Kansans, John, and I am grateful you are still with me as we get closer to the 2022 election. Before I go, I have a favor to ask: We're facing a critical end-of-month deadline next Tuesday. Will you chip in before then?

Thank you,
