Tonight is a critical deadline. Here’s why:
The U.N.’s latest climate report is its most dire one yet, showing that
our planet is warming at an unprecedented pace — and shows no signs of
slowing down.
The Biden administration understands the urgency and has proposed a
sweeping set of climate policies that Congress must pass. So the NRDC
Action Fund has launched our most ambitious grassroots mobilization
campaign EVER to fight for the strongest possible climate legislation and
to hold our leaders accountable — and to make it happen, we need your help
to reach our $40,000 goal by midnight tonight.

The Senate recently passed infrastructure legislation that includes some
important climate provisions but doesn’t go nearly far enough to avert
climate catastrophe and capitalize on the promise of the Biden
administration’s Build Back Better agenda.
Now we need Congress to also pass strong budget reconciliation legislation
that will slash climate pollution, dramatically speed up the transition to
clean energy, and safeguard vulnerable communities.
Mitch McConnell said that 100 percent of his focus is on thwarting the
Biden agenda — once again putting corporate profits and his personal
agenda above this climate emergency, public health, and our planet.
Unfortunately, he's far from alone. There are plenty of other
anti-environment members of Congress — and their allies in the fossil fuel
industry — who are fighting tooth-and-nail to block climate progress.
How much we can raise by midnight tonight will determine how much pressure
we can generate to pass this crucial budget package.
