Good news, everyone! The sham recall attempt to recall Senate President Leroy Garcia of Pueblo failed.
With today's announcement, that makes six failed recall attempts by Colorado Republicans:
Make no mistake -- this happened because of YOU.
Thanks to you, Democrats were able to beat back the sham recall attempts being made by Republicans. Don't forget that back in March, Colorado GOP Chair Ken Buck said "We need to teach them how to spell R-E-C-A-L-L."
Here's our statement from Party Chair Morgan Carroll:
“The people of Colorado spoke loud and clear, and sent a message to the sore losers and con artists running these sham recalls — they don’t want their 2018 decisions to be overturned. The voters of these districts chose dedicated public servants — like Puebloan and Marine veteran Leroy Garcia — because they knew these state Senators and Representatives would fight for Colorado values at the State Capitol. The fact Colorado Republican Party chair Ken Buck kicked off his term as chair by promising to ‘teach Democrats how to spell R-E-C-A-L-L’ shows just how out of touch leadership in the Colorado GOP really is.”

My name is Karina and I just started volunteering for the Colorado Democrats. I am an Administrative Assistant and you can find me at the office on Sherman Street where I help organize our big upcoming events. I am so excited to be involved in the fight to get Donald Trump voted out of The White House and replaced with a president that we can be proud of.
We need a president that will fight to change the direction of our beautiful country.
Our president should fight for health care and education for all no matter your income. Our president should work to combat the climate crises and our president should stand with our international partners and allies to advance our shared interests, instead of cozying up to dictators. Our president should end corruption in Washington and fight for a better life for all Americans. The sitting president is fighting for nothing but his own interests. He needs to go.
Trump’s words and actions are fueling and legitimizing hate but that is not who we are. Let’s us stop him in November 2020. Join me and many others in the fight. Become a volunteer. We can do this.
Our party wouldn't be as organized and successful as it is without the talented and dedicated volunteers we have at the local levels. Want to brush up on your skills so you can help make sure Colorado goes blue in 2020? Sign up for an upcoming webinar:

October 10, 2019 was the day that Cory Gardner went full Trump -- attacking the media and ignoring facts while refusing to answer a simple yes or no question: is it acceptable for a president to pressure a foreign leader to investigate their political rivals?
According to the AP, during the full meeting with reporters, Cory Gardner dodged this very simple question a twelve times. Gardner’s “cowardly” meltdown is making headlines in Colorado and across the country, with his dozen dodges pleasing only an audience of one: President Trump himself, who “liked” Gardner’s flailing defense on Twitter.
Gardner did as he was told -- just as he's voted with Trump 98 percent of the time.
Take a look, and ICYMI (you probably didn’t) the full video is available HERE.
9News: “Senator Cory Gardner makes national news melting down over one question he refuses to answer… the video of Gardner stonewalling journalists, including our Anusha Roy, quickly earned praise from President Donald Trump who liked the video on Twitter.”
NBC News: “Gardner voted against Trump in 2016 general. Said he ‘shows a disgust for American character and a dignity unbecoming of the Presidency’... His reason for not voting HRC: She ‘would sell our national security to the highest bidder and finalize the destruction of the rule of law.’”
Washington Post: Rubin: “One can be remembered for running from the media and refusing to acknowledge letting foreign powers determine our president (as Sens. Joni Ernst of Iowa and Cory Gardner of Colorado have done). Alternatively, one can be on the right side of history in defense of the Constitution against Trump and his co-conspirators who use power to advance their own interests.”
Meet the Press Daily: “This is a straightforward question about something that the President of the United States said on the South Lawn of the White House. It should be an easy question to answer — is it or is it not appropriate?”
Hardball: “Colorado Republican Senator Cory Gardner, who's up for re-election next year, showed the bind the President has put Republicans in, as he was asked about Trump's call with Ukraine's leader and was pressed whether it was ok for a president to ask for dirt on a political rival.”
Gardner’s support for Trump was never in question -- he votes with him 98 percent of the time and spent last weekend headlining a major national Trump Victory fundraiser in New York City. But his refusal to acknowledge that Trump’s actions are inappropriate shows yet again that Gardner will put his party leaders in Washington above all else.
Of course, that didn't mark the end of the Gardner's bad couple of weeks. This week, Gardner voted "Yes" on Trump's Dirty Power Scam, he tripled-down on his support of Trump's Fake Emergency that's taking $8 million in military funding from Colorado, AND his approval tanked yet again.
