"The House Has Passed A Bill To Restore The Voting Rights Act"
Did you see the news, team?
The House just passed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
This is huge. The John Lewis VRA will prohibit racial discrimination in voting and put a stop to the outrageous, racist voter restrictions passed in at least 17 states in recent years. Now, the legislation is off to the Senate for a vote.
Listen, we need to keep this momentum going. Our Vote To Live Campaign is working to register and organize Black voters so that our voices are heard at the polls no matter what.
We set a goal to raise $5,000 before the August end-of-month deadline to fuel our efforts. Will you chip in right now to power our movement to register and organize Black voters?
