John, this is not
a good sign. Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are trying to stop
the $3.5 trillion spending bill supported by every other Democrat in
Congress and President Biden.

"Sinema made clear that she will not back a $3.5 trillion reconciliation
plan and isn’t willing to negotiate about it." (Politico)

The conservative Senate duo that voted against raising the minimum wage
are joining nine conservative House Democrats to try to block money to
fight climate change, expand Medicare, invest in paid leave and child
care, and much more.

"Manchin blasted out a statement cheering the House moderates for their
demands." (Politico)

Manchin, Sinema, and conservative House Democrats are going to continue
their push to stop this historic investment in our people and our
environment. We’re fighting back.

stop our progressive priorities in Congress? We must fight for the people
and defeat the corporate interests trying to block progress.

We’ve seen how far the political establishment and corporations are
willing to go to defeat progressive priorities AND progressive primary
challengers.

Manchin, Sinema, Reps. Josh Gottheimer and Henry Cuellar, corporations
like ExxonMobil and Wells Fargo — all want to maintain the status quo.
It’s how conservative Democrats maintain their power and it’s how
corporations continue exploiting working people and the planet for profit.

We can’t have a Democratic Party bullied into submission by the likes of
Kyrsten Sinemas, Joe Manchins, and Henry Cuellars. We need to transform
the Democratic Party so we have a class of working-class progressive
elected officials fighting for the people.
