John,

Congress has one month to lock in Medicare Expansion before they pass the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act through budget reconciliation.

Right now, health care industry lobbyists who rake in billions from the status quo are flooding the halls of Congress to try to roll back our progress on Medicare Expansion. This week, we need the Speaker of the House and committee chairs to hear from the people that we need to expand Medicare!

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has the most control over the process in the House. If she pushes for Medicare to be expanded, it’s almost certainly going to be in the bill. Call her today at: (202) 225-4965

Rep. Richard Neal chairs the Ways & Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicare’s funding. He needs to hear from you. Call Chairman Neal at: (202) 225-5601

Rep. Frank Pallone chairs the Energy & Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over health care regulations. He needs to hear from you, too. Call Chairman Pallone at: (202) 225-4671

When someone answers, here’s what you can say:

Hi, my name is [Name] and I’m calling to urge [Speaker Pelosi/Chairman Neal/Chairman Pallone] to expand Medicare! Specifically, the upcoming reconciliation package must:

  1. Lower the Medicare eligibility age to at least 60
  2. Give Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices
  3. Expand Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing care
  4. Cap out-of-pocket Medicare costs

Can I count on [Speaker Pelosi/Chairman Neal/Chairman Pallone] to support these critical health care priorities?

House leadership has supported us thus far. But dark money and health care lobbyists are going to be pulling out the stops to protect the broken status quo. We can win―but it’s going to take all of our voices! Call right now!

After you call, reply to this email and let us know how the staffer responds.

Thanks,

Michael Phelan
