Earlier this month, 36 million families received the second monthly payment of the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Child Tax Credit. Food insecurity dropped to the lowest levels since the start of the pandemic for families with children.

One of the most transformative policies to come out of Washington since President Roosevelt’s New Deal and President Johnson’s Great Society, the expanded Child Tax Credit has already dramatically reduced child hunger in the United States. It’s one of the most important ways the American Rescue Plan is providing necessary relief to the American people.
