The New Yorker:

The U.N.'s Terrifying Climate Report

"Scientists predict hotter heat waves and worse flooding in the decades ahead, but the catastrophe is evident everywhere this summer."

The U.N.'s climate report made things crystal clear: America must take real action to reverse climate change. Our first step forward is sending a climate champion to Congress -- will you chip in $5 or more to elect Kara Hahn to New York's 1st?

John, the climate crisis will be one of the greatest challenges of our lifetime -- we need to take meaningful action now.

While the far-right still denies climate change is real, we can't waste another moment getting caught up in their ignorance. We need to focus on defeating bad actors who enable corporate polluters to poison our planet.

That includes two-bit partisans like Lee Zeldin who say one thing and do another. That's why it's so important for us to build a winning campaign right here in New York's 1st -- our representative is a part of the problem.

When reelection rolls around, Lee likes to paint himself as the paradigm of environmental conservation. But Lee's record paints a different picture, which is nicely summarized by his 14% approval score from the League of Conservation Voters.

In contrast, Kara's record in the county legislature reflects a career of accomplishments with environmental conservation being a major theme -- not a phony side note. Kara introduced and passed several bills to reduce the use of single-use plastics and keep contaminants out of our drinking water right here on Long Island.

Work like this has earned Kara the position of chair of the environment committee in the Suffolk County Legislature where she continues to lead the way on these issues.

John, you know the stakes and you know where Kara stands on the issues. Will you help tackle the climate crisis by sending Kara Hahn to Congress to fight for progress?
