I want to take a moment and give you a few updates directly from campaign HQ. Some of them are a little concerning, but it's important to me that you're kept in the loop:
• I have not one, but two Republican opponents who have gone on the attack against me. One is a self-funder with the ability to spend millions. The other likely was encouraged by Kevin McCarthy and NRCC operatives to run against me.
• Republicans in CA-49 and across California are more invigorated than ever. With a recall election looming, they are getting an early jump on organizing their activists. That's a worrying trend headed into the midterm elections.
• Team Levin is ramping up our field efforts. We just opened a new office in Carlsbad, and we have a robust voter contact program planned for the months ahead.
• To fully fund our field operation, we set a $25,000 fundraising goal before the end of the month. Unfortunately, we're pacing well behind our target.

We're heading into a midterm election that's historically difficult for the party in power. Not to mention we have redistricting on the horizon, which means this district will likely be as competitive now as it was when we flipped it back in 2018.
But here's what hasn't changed: I won't take a dime from corporate PACs, and we're depending on lots of individual supporters chipping in what they can to help us overcome these challenges.
So much is on the line, and we can't afford to go backwards now.
