The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act just passed in the House!

The legislation would restore and strengthen voter protections by
expanding federal government oversight of attempted disenfranchisement —
especially aimed at Black and Brown Americans. This is an important
victory, particularly in the face of a recent wave of attempts at the
state level and in the Supreme Court to restrict the right to vote.

The challenge now is that, despite the slim majority Democrats hold in the
Senate, Republicans remain universally opposed to this legislation and the
filibuster stands in the way of passing this critical bill — not to
mention many other key, progressive priorities.

[ [link removed] ]It’s
time for all Democrats in the Senate to commit to get rid of the Jim Crow
filibuster and pass urgently needed election protections. If you agree,
will you add your name now calling for the Senate to eliminate the
filibuster and pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act?

Together, we can safeguard every person’s right to vote.

Thank you for taking action today,

The A-Team
