Friends,
We need to act on climate — fast.
A recent United Nations report made it clearer than ever: we can only avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change if we drastically cut greenhouse emissions. The UN Secretary General called the report a “code red for humanity.”
But we have an important opportunity to take action in the coming weeks as Congress writes the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill.
Martin worked hard to make sure critical climate measures were included in the budget reconciliation framework — like establishing a clean electricity standard for utility companies and an electrification and efficiency rebates program for household appliances.
These measures would help address our climate crisis with the effect and urgency it deserves, while also investing billions in renewable energy and creating good-paying jobs in New Mexico and across the country. It’s crucial for our economy and our planet that we make these policies a reality.
So, will you add your name next to Martin’s to call on Congress to pass these critical climate measures?
