Dear Friend,
I am writing to you today to ask for your help in continuing the legacy of my father, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On August 28, 1963, my father led 250,000 people in the historic March On Washington. There, in front of the Lincoln Memorial, he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, calling on the nation to rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed.
Today, over 400 bills have been introduced looking to limit our ability to participate in our democracy.
Let’s be clear -- Something is wrong within our nation at this moment. But we can fix it.
My parents understood that it took only a few good women and men to bring about change and justice. They and many others gave their lives so that we would not have to be here today talking about expanding voting rights.
On August 28th, myself and thousands of others across the country will be marching to demand justice and ensure that our voting rights are protected for good. We would love it if you joined us.
