Different voices? same message: Get vaccinated
Let's get vaccinated campaign graphic
It was good to hear Jason from Nottingham band Sleaford Mods talk about Covid-19 vaccinations on his Twitter account yesterday [ [link removed] ]. He was urging people to check the facts about the vaccine rather than listening to gossip and fake news. It?s an important message. Jason?s video has been viewed more than 50,000 times ? he has a unique voice and reaches different people in a different way than we can as the City Council. But? the message is the same: get the vaccine to protect yourself and others from Covid-19 ? and, if you?re not sure about the jab, please find out more about it. Doctors and nurses are available to chat to you at every vaccination centre and will answer all of your questions. You don?t need an appointment, you can just turn up and find out more. There is also a useful Q&A section on the local NHS website [ [link removed] ]. You can find details of all of the local vaccination centres and their opening times here [ [link removed] ].

City Centre 20mph
Nottingham Skyline
As part of the city?s plan for its Covid-19 recovery, we want to grow back greener and we want to create a city that is built around the needs of people, rather than cars. That includes doing whatever we can to make it easier for people to travel sustainably, such as walking or cycling. More people switching to sustainable travel will contribute to cleaner air, and also help towards our ambition to become a carbon neutral city by 2028.
Back in 2015, the council introduced 20mph limits in almost all residential areas. We are now looking to build on this and increase the number of streets with a 20mph limit to include much of the city centre. In an informal consultation earlier this year 71 per cent of respondents supported these proposals. A formal consultation on this scheme has begun, please send your feedback in writing
[email protected]?by Monday 27?September. More information can be found on www.transportnottingham.com/20mph [ [link removed] ]

Day of Action
Litter pick
It was great to join my co-councillors Dave Trimble and Pavlos Kotsonis for a Day of Action in our ward with Lilian Greenwood MP today. We started the morning listing to Wollaton Park residents in Farndon Green and hearing about the issues that matter most to them. Then we did a litter pick in Lenton, helping deliver on our commitment to make neighbourhoods cleaner and tidier. And we also spent time in the Dunkirk area conducting a Unipol garden survey of their accredited properties, ensuring the standard of accommodation is up to what we expect in Nottingham.
Local councillors and Members of Parliament in Nottingham work very closely together to make our city a better place. If you need to contact your Member of Parliament you can find their contact details here [ [link removed] ].

Happy Nottinghamshire Day!
Nottinghamshire day
Though County Days have a long history, this is the first year Nottinghamshire Day has been celebrated on August 25th.? We?ve enjoyed hearing from you today about what local businesses, cafes and restaurants you love in Nottingham and Notts ? it?s great to spread the word and help support independent businesses after an incredibly difficult year and a half. If you can, please do get out and support your local independents.
Notts TV also asked people in the city what they love about living here [ [link removed] ] ? popular answers included Robin Hood, our diverse city, living so close to beautiful countryside and the greeting ?Ay up me duck!?
