Calling all elementary teachers, parents, administers and kids! ‌ Teachers, Parents, Kids The Fall Healthy Futures Challenge starts Sept 1st Is your school registered? TEACHERS SIGN UP HERE! Kids that are active grow into healthier adults. They also perform better academically and have fewer social and behavioral problems. Healthy Futures has provided elementary schools across Alaska with a Fall and Spring Healthy Futures Challenge for nearly 20 years. Each time a child meets their goals for being physically active and completes a monthly activity log they are building the habit of living a healthy active lifestyle! How it works: It’s Simple and it's Free! Students from participating schools who are active for at least 60 minutes a day, 15 days a month, and record their activity on the Healthy Futures Activity Log are awarded fun incentives. Schools, students and teachers are eligible for prizes for outstanding participation. We are COVID adaptive. We have activity logs modified for at home or in school learning. Good physical activity habits are more important than ever during this time! What you can do: Elementary School Teachers Be the champion for your school! If you have not done so already, take five minutes to register today! Our program is free and we'll send you all the resources you need to get started! All registered schools will receive our new Healthy Futures Challenge poster featuring Alaska's brightest sports stars! Register Parents Click here to find out if your child's school is signed up for the Fall Challenge. If they are not signed up, contact your school and encourage them to jump on board a statewide "movement"! If they are signed up, contact your school and find out how you can support the Challenge! School Administrators Research shows children who are physically active perform better academically, have improved socials skills and fewer behavioral problems. The Healthy Futures Challenge is great and affordable investment in our youth. Find teachers within your schools and districts to champion the Healthy Futures Challenge and support them in building a culture that promotes a healthy physical lifestyle!
