Folks,
Last night, I proudly cast my vote to advance both the bipartisan infrastructure deal and the Congressional budget that fulfill key parts of President Biden’s American Families Plan.
(This would be 100% impossible without our Democratic House Majority. I’m on the frontlines of the fight to hold the House, and anything you can chip in to protect my battleground district would make a huge difference in our work for progress.)
This budget will provide crucial investments that help working families get ahead. We’re at a turning point, and we can’t afford to do nothing. Here’s a run-down of what the budget will enable Congress to pass:
- Universal preschool for 3- and 4-year olds
- Tuition-free community college
- Investments and incentives for climate action
- Paid medical and family leave for nearly all workers
- Expanded Medicare and Medicaid
- A permanent child tax credit to continue monthly payments and cut child poverty in half
I’m going to do whatever it takes to make sure the final version of this bill has everything that the hard-working folks in MI-11 -- and across the country -- need and deserve.
Together with the bipartisan infrastructure deal that targets bridges, roads, and transit, we will be building back better than ever before.
This was one of the votes I’m most proud of -- it truly proved what we can accomplish with a Democratic House Majority. Will you chip in $25 to ensure we can keep our Majority and keep making progress on these issues?
