Meet Dr. Gafar Alawode.

Dr. Alawode is a partner of our Global Health Advocacy Incubator in Nigeria, helping to build coalitions and engage decision makers at the national and state levels. A public health practitioner and experienced program manager based in Abuja, Dr. Alawode holds a first degree in medicine and surgery and a master’s degree in tropical medicine, and he has managed a variety of donor-funded health projects. He serves on the board of the Legislative Initiative for Sustainable Development (LISDEL), a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of Nigerians. LISDEL is one of three Global Health Advocacy Incubator grantees in Nigeria focused on increasing funding for epidemic preparedness.
