Friends,
Donald Trump is a bigot who has no business in the Oval Office, and I don’t trust the GOP to hold him accountable.
I don’t even trust my own Democratic Representative, Stephen Lynch, to do that because he’s already said he doesn’t support impeachment proceedings, despite the clear obstruction case against Trump and the Constitutional duty of any member of Congress to provide a check on the Executive Branch.
This week’s racist comments by Trump, telling duly elected American citizens who are women of color to “go back to their countries,” are completely unacceptable, and Lynch and every other member of Congress should be using every ounce of the power invested in them by the American people to ensure that he faces actual consequences for it.
They are not doing it, but I will. I’m running against Lynch, and I have no qualms about impeaching Trump. Where he lacks political courage, I have resolve and determination, and I have no tolerance for this kind of passivity in the face of bigotry.
