We’re living through the worst attack on voting rights since Jim Crow -- 250 laws and counting have been proposed in 43 states to restrict the right to vote, especially in communities of color.

Polling places are being closed, options for voting early or absentee are being significantly decreased, and Republicans are trying to gerrymander their way into a House majority.

The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act will protect the right to vote for all Americans -- it will restrict states from imposing certain voting restrictions and make sure that states with a history of racial discrimination receive federal approval before making changes to their election laws.
