Hi Friend,
Our wildlife relies on intact migration corridors which allow them to move
safely between seasonal habitats. This is an essential part of the life
cycle for many animals in Nevada. It is incumbent upon us to protect these
crucial habitats and migration corridors. It is good for wildlife,
habitats and people all across our state!
Luckily, Governor Sisolak agrees that we need to protect our wildlife,
public lands, and migration corridors. On Monday, [ [link removed] ]the Governor signed
an Executive Order creating the Nevada Habitat Conservation Framework
which will take steps to restore and conserve intact, accessible natural
areas which are critical to maintaining Nevada’s billion $ recreation
economy, strengthen ongoing work to identify and protect wildlife
migration corridors and associated habitats, and strengthen NDOT’s role in
identifying opportunities to protect or restore sagebrush habitats and
wildlife migration corridors.

Greater than 50 percent of sagebrush habitats have been lost or degraded
from threats such as wildfire, invasive species, climate change, and
anthropogenic fragmentation. Taking steps outlined in this EO will provide
benefits for the state’s sagebrush ecosystem. Every year deer, elk,
bighorn sheep, and other large animals use migration corridors to give
birth to their young & care for them. The Executive Order is a great step
in the right direction. Protecting our wildlife has to be a top priority
for all our elected officials!
Don’t forget to thank Governor Sisolak today for signing this important
Order. Use the links in this email to have a tweet generated that tags the
