It’s never been clearer that we need AGs who’ll focus on protecting our democracy and our votes.
Team, we have an update on the Republican Attorneys General Association that we want you to know about:
“Watchdog group urges Jan. 6 committee to question Republican AGs”
-The Hill, August 2021
Friend, remember: the Republican Attorneys General Association promoted the Donald Trump rally that preceded the January 6th insurrection with a robocall encouraging supporters to “stop the steal.”
And they’re still passing the buck on who’s responsible, but now an accountability watchdog group is calling on Congress to question RAGA members on their role in the events of January 6th.
Developments like these are important. We can’t just gloss over the role that organizations like RAGA played on that day in January.
They’ve continued to make light of and spread election fraud lies online. They’ve ducked press inquiries about a promised internal investigation. And to top it all off, they promoted Pete Bisbee – the very man responsible for the robocalls – to become the Executive Director of RAGA.
Friend, Republican AGs and the committee that supports them are dangerous actors who will reward unethical, undemocratic behaviors in order to realize a far-right vision of America.
Republicans aren’t going to hold themselves accountable, and if they’re left unchecked, we can expect more baseless lies that undermine our elections and the integrity of our democracy.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
