With one week until our August fundraising deadline, I wanted to take a moment to recap what our campaign has been up to and what lies ahead. From discussing public transit initiatives at a crab feast in Ocean City to how we can safely get students and educators back in schools this fall at a church in Baltimore, my team and I have been meeting with voters across the state learning what issues are most important to their local communities.

To keep the momentum rolling, pitch in here so we can hit our August goal.

Last week, I attended MACo, the Maryland Association of Counties annual summer conference in Ocean City where I...

Dug into some crabs at the annual MACo Crab Feast on Friday...

Chatted briefly with MD House of Delegates Speaker Adrienne Jones...

I went for a spin on a rollercoaster at the Ocean City boardwalk with my daughter Mireya...

After a fun few days down at the ocean, I went out to Chestertown to speak with the Democratic Club of Kent County...

Then I stopped by the Kent County African American Legacy Fair and spoke with local faith activists...

And caught a great sunset on the drive home...

Then on Sunday I attended services at the Greater Harvest Baptist Church in Baltimore.

Talking to everyday Marylanders in their communities reminds me why I got into this race to begin with: to create a more equitable state where everyone can thrive. Our campaign has grown so much since we first launched, and it grows stronger by the day thanks to supporters like you.

But here’s the thing: August can be a slow month for political fundraising. However, I know our grassroots donors can match the energy our movement is gaining in the community and I’m hoping that together we can exceed expectations by hitting our August goal. With just one week before the deadline, please pitch in so we can keep up the momentum and continue sharing our progressive vision with Marylanders across the state.

I’m so glad we’re on this journey together.
