John, yesterday, Natalia emailed you about our work to fight back against nine pro-corporate Democrats in the House who are holding President Biden's proposal on jobs, climate, and care — and our entire progressive agenda — hostage.
The good news is their strategy just failed. The House just voted to advance the bipartisan infrastructure package and a budget reconciliation package — bringing working people one step closer to the relief we so desperately need. But we still have a long way to go.
We have a historic opportunity in the coming months to pass a jobs and care agenda that includes climate defense, preschool and childcare, strengthening and expanding Medicare, building out broadband in rural areas, and replacing dirty lead pipes in our cities. And we won’t be stopped by a few reckless politicians or the corporations who bankroll them.
Contribute $3 or whatever you can afford to help WFP keep the pressure on the corporate Democrats trying to sink our agenda.

Subject: Working people don’t care about bipartisanship and moderation. They want jobs and care.
John,
Earlier this month, the Senate advanced a bipartisan infrastructure package and a budget reconciliation package to the House that includes many, but certainly not all, investments in jobs, climate, care, housing, and immigration that the bipartisan package does not cover.
But right now, nine moderate Democrats in the House are threatening to stand in the way of this budget reconciliation package and the very priorities working families elected them to tackle — taking their literal cues from Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin.1
What these Democrats are doing isn’t just a blow to our progressive priorities and working people. It’s also a blow to President Biden’s entire agenda.
So in partnership with several other progressive organizations, we’re putting Reps. Josh Gottheimer, Carolyn Bourdeaux, Filemon Vela, Jared Golden, Henry Cuellar, Vicente Gonzalez, Ed Case, Jim Costa, and Kurt Schrader on notice through a six-figure digital and television ad buy with a simple message: Stop obstructing President Biden's proposal on jobs, climate, and care!
But we need your help to expand our reach. Can you chip in $3 or more to help us take action against these nine Democrats that are threatening to derail the progressive agenda?
Contribute $3
Let’s be very clear: These nine Democrats aren’t acting in the interest of bipartisanship or “fiscal responsibility.”
They’re fighting to protect the interests of their corporate donors who are fearful of our once-in-a-generation opportunity to win big and bold investments in climate solutions, the care economy, jobs, and justice.
New York Representative Josh Gottheimer took in more than a million dollars from Wall Street during his last campaign for reelection, casting a reliable vote to bail them out at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. And Texas Representative Henry Cuellar, dubbed “Big Oil’s favorite Democrat,” took in hundreds of thousands of dollars from corporate PACs associated with Chevron and Halliburton.
Working people who can’t afford to put food on the table, who are going without doctor visits not covered by their insurer, or who have had their homes wrecked by flooding or fires this summer don’t care about bipartisanship and moderation. They want jobs and care — and they want it now.
Help us send an unmistakable message to these nine pro-corporate Democrats by chipping into WFP today so we can keep the pressure up. We can’t wait any longer to build a nation that cares for all of us.
In solidarity,
Natalia Salgado
