Dear John,

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the ratification of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920. It’s important to remember that many Black women and more women of color didn’t earn the right to vote until years later. Today’s edition of The Moment includes the speech, “Ain’t I a Woman?” by Sojourner Truth, an LFJ lesson with an accurate voting rights timeline and an article that delves deeply into women’s history, all for Women’s Equality Day—and beyond.

We’ll let you know whenever we update The Moment. Whether it’s lessons on a timely topic, resources for supporting vulnerable students or tips for making it through a tough time of year, we’ll have what you need front and center.

Thanks for all you do for students.
