John-- In the past month, Team Chang got a lot done. We passed legislation through the full Senate to hold repeat
domestic violence offenders more accountable.
We secured $12 million in the state budget for the Woodhaven
grade separation project (huge team effort to get this one done) to
address trains blocking traffic for hours, sometimes getting in the
way of emergency vehicles.
We were part of a bipartisan bill package that was voted out of
committee recently -- to create an address confidentiality program for
survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
We were part of a bipartisan bill package that is finally headed to the Governor's desk, to raise the age of who is considered a juvenile in our court system -- soon, most 17 year-olds will be considered juveniles instead of automatically being charged as adults. We held numerous coffee hours and town halls on everything from
housing to the environment!
And we work with residents every day in our district to solve
problems -- everything from Medicaid issues to housing and
more.
