That might as well be today's news headline as Trump announced the 2020 G7 Economic summit would be held at his own Doral Golf Club in Miami. We were shocked that he's found yet another way to use the Presidency to line his own pockets.
Shocked, as any reasonable person would be, but not entirely surprised considering his personal and professional track record:
- Nearly 400 visits to his own properties since taking office costing the taxpayers more than $108 million.
- Saudis officials threw a lavish party that cost more than $270k during just one stay at the Trump hotel in D.C.
- The largest bank in the world, owned and operated by the Chinese Government, leases space in Trump Tower to the tune of $2 million per year with little to no oversight by our own banking institutions.
- He's put up members of his administration at Trump properties all around the world and left the American taxpayers to foot the bill. Just ask Vice President Pence how he enjoyed his stay in Ireland.
These are all a flagrant abuse of the Presidency for personal gain. If any member of the public did those same things, they'd be brought up on charges of racketeering.
The American people shouldn't have to "get over" Trump's brazen willingness to break the law and rub our noses in it.
If you're with me, please make a contribution to my campaign right now, so we can continue speaking truth to power and making sure that hard-working families in Miami aren't stuck footing the bill for Trump's shameful attempts to line his own pocket.
