It's just about that time of year again: back to school. As the son of two now-retired public school teachers and the father of two kiddos in public school, I know all about the mixed emotions this time of year holds during a "normal" time: excitement, anxiety, frenzy, and more.

This year, these emotions are heightened by the fear of the COVID-19 virus and the Delta Variant. I understand these concerns, and I want you to know -- first and foremost -- that the safety of our students and teachers is a top priority of mine.

I'm reaching out today because I want to hear from you. As we head into the new school year, I'm gathering your responses so I can get a better sense of what's most important to you and your family as our schools open their doors.
