John — we have exciting news! Today the US House of Representatives is set to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act .

This act will restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965 where it's been gutted by the Supreme Court.

States, especially those with a history of discrimination, will once more need the permission of the federal government to enact voting law changes. And suing over racial inequality in voting districts will be much easier because new parameters on gerrymandering will be enshrined in law.

It's crucial that the House passes this bill before the 2022 election so that all Americans can have a fair vote in their government.
