Dear Friend, The IPCC report, the sixth assessment report of the physical science, could not have been clearer. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres described the report as “Code Red for humanity.” And yet the political theatre that passes for democratic debate in this country remains mired in the trivial. Meanwhile, in British Columbia, thousands of our fellow citizens remain under evacuation orders or evacuation alerts. The skies are an eerie orange as ash rains down on interior towns like Armstrong. Prairie farmers are in dire straits as drought chokes the life out of their crops. Over 570 British Columbians died in a few short days from the heat domes, while floods ravaged much of Europe and China. For the first time the IPCC has raised the credible threat of runaway global warming – of unstoppable, self-accelerating global heating. If you are feeling a sense of despair, I cannot blame you. I am fighting it all the time. But fight it we must, because we still have time to avoid runaway global warming. We still have a chance of holding the global average temperature to no more than 1.5 degrees C. This is the moment when we must raise the alarm. The science is clear. Liberal climate fakery and NDP hypocrisy must not be allowed to shut down a meaningful debate about the climate emergency. Spread the word. Support your local Green candidate. If there is not already a candidate where you live, step up to run yourself. We are running out of time, but we do have just enough time to save ourselves. If not now, when? Please, make your donation today. With my thanks,
