Katie Porter for Congress

John, this is a longer email, but it’s an incredibly important one.

Back in 2018, we fought hard to win Katie’s district—flipping a seat that Republicans held for decades. And every day since, Katie’s been proud to use her position in Congress to fight on behalf of working families and ask powerful figures tough questions during hearings—no matter if they’re the CDC Director, the Postmaster General, the HUD Secretary, or a wealthy pharmaceutical executive.

In 2020, with your help, we proved that this campaign wasn’t just a one-off “blue wave” phenomenon. We continued to strengthen and grow our movement that put working families first. Thanks to the support from this community, Katie won her first re-election.

Our campaign is honored to be able to stand for the American people and demonstrate what it looks like to fight for the working class during Congressional hearings. When videos of these moments ignite on social media, Katie and our team receive so many kind messages from people all across the country.

But John, here’s the hard truth: We know that excitement online does not directly translate to momentum on the ground.

The reality is, Katie’s district is one of the most vulnerable districts that a Democrat could be running in. Orange County is still considered a “purple” political climate. No matter the color or the party lines, Katie’s still going to continue calling out the B.S. and advocating for issues that affect all working families—but the GOP is already mobilizing their supporters to help flip this seat next year.

The fight didn’t end on Election Day 2020. So right now, it’s essential for our campaign to fundraise and make long-term investments in organizing our communities, getting our message out there, registering new voters, and fending off any future challengers for the 2022 race. And we can’t do any of this without your support.

So John, if you're able, can you please contribute to our campaign today? Our fundraising numbers have dipped a bit this month, and we’re relying on your support to hit our grassroots fundraising goals and remain competitive.

With your contributions from emails like this one, Katie can continue to speak truth to power fight for working families.

Thank you for everything you do to make this work possible,

Team Katie Porter
