Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Records broken in Virginia, Pete wins the debate and more!
VIRGINIA IS FOR LGBTQ CANDIDATES
Great news for LGBTQ candidates in the Virginia legislative races: they’re shattering fundraising records.
Want to take a deep dive into the numbers behind the huge hauls? Here’s a breakdown by Leadership Committee and Party.
This record-breaking report comes at the perfect time: Spotlight candidate Danica Roem just reported that her previous opponent, the self-proclaimed "chief homophobe" of Virginia, donated $3,000 to her current opponent.
MOMENT OF ZEN
A brief interlude for several pieces of good news. First: The Advocate helped celebrate National Coming Out Day by highlight LGBTQ candidates. Read their stories here.
We have an answer on those tricky North Carolina races from last week’s Agenda: both Saige Martin and Jonathan Melton have declared victory!! Congratulations North Carolina!
Spotlight candidate Eliz Markowitz spoke with the Dallas Voice on her journey to join Texas’s LGBTQ caucus.
Openly LGBTQ Houston City Council candidate Nick Hellyar received a key endorsement from the editorial board of the Houston Chronical. Congratulations, Nick!

THROWBACK THURSDAY
A big thank you to Ali Brown, openly LGBTQ candidate for Indianapolis City-County Council, who took over our social media yesterday!
Ali covered a lot of topics during her busy day – including getting her son ready for school. It isn’t easy being an LGBTQ candidate, and it’s even harder to run as a parent!
On top of being a mom and candidate, Ali also holds a job with a local nonprofit, where she spent the day assisting seniors and those with disabilities. Here’s how she spent her day.
LGBTQ candidates run for a lot of different reasons. Hear from Ali herself why she made the big choice to run:

TAKEOVER THURSDAY
Big news, social media fans! Thursdays in October, one of our endorsed candidates will be taking over our social media to give us an inside look into their race and life on the campaign trail. NEXT UP: SPOTLIGHT CANDIDATE DANICA ROEM!

FEEL THE PETE WAVE
How did Pete do during the October Democratic Debate? According to The New York Times, it was his biggest night yet! Meanwhile, The Boston Globe named him the winner and gave his debate proformance an A.
Iowa, apparently, agrees. Since the debate, Pete has seen a bump in polling numbers.
And while it’s a long road to November 2020, one Democratic strategist pictured Pete going toe-to-toe with Trump. Now that’s a fight we can’t wait to see!

THAT'S A WRAP!
Residents of College Park, MD, aren’t standing for bigotry. After several homophobic remarks from a candidate running against Victory candidate and openly LGBTQ Mayor Patrick Wojahn, attendees walked out of a debate in protest.
