Hey, it’s Maggie’s campaign manager. This is a longer email, but I wanted to keep you in the loop about the uphill battle to keep our Senate majority.
We’ve developed a strategic roadmap to reelect Senator Hassan and keep control of the Senate -- and I’ll go more into that in a second -- but first, I have to ask: can you chip in $5 today? Our August fundraising has been really slow, and I’m worried about falling behind.
Maggie’s race in 2016 shattered New Hampshire spending records, and it was a tough fight to the very last second. When the dust settled, she won by only 1,017 votes: one of the closest Senate races in history.
In a state this close, we knew from day one that it would be a marathon, not a sprint, to hold this seat. So we’ve gotten to work earlier than ever before to get staff on the ground, reach every Granite Stater, and build a winning campaign.
That means that we check our numbers monthly, weekly, and even daily to make sure we’re on track to hit every goal we set. Every dollar and deadline plays a crucial role in our long term strategy.
August is typically a slower month for fundraising, but Republicans are picking up the pace. Two McConnell-linked super PACs announced huge ad buys attacking Maggie. Mike Pence, Betsy DeVos, and the Trump network have been descending on New Hampshire all summer. And a recent poll from WMUR shows Senator Hassan down by one point.
There’s still time to correct the course and get back on track before the end of the month, but it’s not going to be easy. With our Democratic majority on the line and the race in New Hampshire quickly picking up speed, it’s not hyperbole to say that missing this deadline could cost us the Senate.
I could really use your help, folks. Can you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can today?
