Read this today? ? ? ? ? DEVELOPING? Speaker Pelosi has called back members of the House of Representatives from their August recess to vote on whether to move forward with a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package. A vote could come as soon as this morning.

This is the most important climate legislation in a generation. The budget resolution, or framework, includes huge investments in clean energy, jobs, and environmental justice. And it's at a scale that will actually make a difference.

This is a critical moment in the campaign ? the Senate has already approved the budget resolution as the first step in the process, but as things stand, we're pushing to make sure we can win the vote in the House to keep moving forward to the detailed policies. We've also received word that the oil industry has launched major pressure campaigns aimed at a few key lawmakers.

Friend ? we've launched a surge campaign that includes major grassroots organizing efforts in states around the country. We're also going big with a media blitz now.

But we're asking for a response from every LCV member to keep this campaign going:

Please friend, donate today. Help us win. Even $5 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]

Right now, our strategy hinges on showing highly visible grassroots support for action in priority districts. Senators and representatives must understand and see strong demand for climate action from their own constituents if there's any chance at moving the bill forward.

We've deployed a massive field program in eight states and 15 congressional districts, with 15 offices and 100 staff on the ground. Organizers in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are going door-to-door canvassing to reach residents and businesses to pledge support for bold legislation by displaying "Climate Action Now" signs in their neighborhoods and businesses.

As of this past week, our organizers have knocked on over 100,000 doors in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, all to rally support for the bill in a leadup to a vote. [link removed]
We're also running a media campaign to ensure that key members of Congress feel supported in taking strong action for clean energy, climate, jobs, and justice. Communications include new cable, broadcast TV, and digital ads in 16 states and 23 congressional districts, airing as members of Congress are home for August recess.

The campaign is working. Members of Congress have already reacted favorably to our ads. They are hearing from grassroots activists, seeing lawn signs in their home districts, encountering ads across multiple platforms ? they're seeing support everywhere for action on climate now.

If everyone reading this message pitched in, we'd blow through our $50,000 August fundraising goal in minutes. This is a goal that matters ? it helps keep organizers knocking on doors and ads airing across channels.

Pitch in, even $5 helps. Triple your impact. This campaign is too important to miss ? [link removed]

Thank you for everything that you do. We'll be in touch again after the vote.

Onward,

Alex, Brooke, Casey, ChiQuita, Jim, Mike, Brent, and Vinnie
