In July, working families across our country began receiving their annual Child Tax Credit as a monthly installment of up to $300 a month per child to help alleviate financial pressure in the pandemic’s aftermath.
A provision of the American Rescue Plan, this new tax credit provides necessary income for rent, child-care, and groceries -- and is already having a significant impact on the futures of our nation’s children. Since payments began a month ago, hunger rates have reached a pandemic low, dropping three percent from the previous month’s prediction.
This is incredible news, friend, but we cannot stop here. Our nation’s working class is critical to our nation’s economy, and we cannot stop until we’ve ensured continued investments in their financial futures.
