Hello ,

It’s been a while so we hope you are all doing well, staying safe, and having a warm and welcoming summer season.

Last summer, after several years of hosting trainings, coaching, and publishing research we decided to embark on a sabbatical to rest, to support our families and friends amidst the pandemic, and to take a step back and reimagine our work and revisit some of our major goals that we envisioned for our future.
After a year of research, retreats, recordings, and website development, we’re excited to announce the launch of our Ayni School with two courses: one on Social Movements and the other based on our Seeds Program.

The Social Movements Course includes 11 modules (each one between 25 mins to an hour long) that dive deep into a comprehensive introduction of our foundational frameworks for understanding social movements including Movement Ecology and Seasonality.

If you’ve wanted to learn about the 5 different theories of change that make up a movement, their strengths and weaknesses, how they can complement and dialogue with each other, and how to build the needed support for your movement to succeed then this course is for you.

The Seeds Course is an 18 module course that also comes included with a condensed 11 module version, which centers three key relationships that we need to recuperate: with our communities, ancestors, and Mother Earth. We believe we need to understand how these ancestral relationships can provide the guidance and wisdom needed to navigate the social and ecological issues of our times. Think of this as a civics course aimed at supporting you to navigate the contradictions and tensions of these times.

We’re so excited to finally share this announcement with all of you. These two courses represent the beginning of the Ayni School. For us, the journey of creating the school arrives during a time where accessible online education is more important than ever. The dream of having a school has been a dialogue that we’ve had in our team for many years. We have always felt that we needed to create a platform that can support in sharing our trainings on social movements and ancestral wisdom to a broader audience.

We are hoping to meet the needs of those who have not been able to attend our in-person trainings due to time constraints, location, and personal responsibilities.

We also envision the school as a living platform that in the coming years expands as we meet new elders, create new content, host cohorts, collaborate with others, and more. This is why we have spent a lot of time researching how to make an online platform that feels intuitive, centers learning, and meets the needs of people wanting to take courses individually or together through videos, exercises, reflections, supplemental material, personal accounts, forums, and more.

Again, this is a starting point for us and something new that we developed in-house by our small team. We welcome your participation and feedback so that we improve the platform as well.

That being said, please feel free to take a look at the Ayni School and enroll!

In Reciprocity,

Carlos, Fhatima, and Rodrigo
