I'll state the obvious, John: I'm not a politician.

But it doesn't take being an elected official to know that our Central Valley community is one of the poorest in the state. So it's a HUGE slap in the face that all Kevin McCarthy cares about is becoming Speaker of the House and his mega donors.

I've worked for over two decades serving students and their parents in our community. I could care less about the Speaker's gavel.

This campaign is about engaging our community around the real issues that matter for the Central Valley -- health care access, education, raising our wages, strengthening our agricultural economy, and fixing our immigration system.

Beating a guy like Kevin McCarthy means talking to everyone -- so right now, we're hiring organizers to mobilize voters in every corner of this district as early as possible. No community will be written off because they are "too Republican" or vote too infrequently.

John, NOTHING would ruin McCarthy's plan to become Speaker better than crushing him at the ballot box in his own backyard. We can do this, but it’s going to take a lot of grassroots support.
