Our fight is more urgent than ever.

Ground Game Texas

Friend,

Last month, Texas Democrats took a bold stand for democracy by fleeing the state to break quorum and block a dangerous voter suppression bill, S.B. 1.

But Governor Abbott and the GOP doubled down on their anti-democratic agenda — and now, with quorum newly restored, S.B. 1 is on the move again. The House is holding a public hearing on the bill today, and it could be signed into law in a matter of days, friend.

We urgently need your help to transform this broken status quo in Texas. Please rush a donation of $10 or any amount you can to Ground Game Texas. We’re launching local campaigns across the state to mobilize a massive new wave of progressive turnout — and restore power to the people, NOT anti-democratic elected officials.

Remember: S.B. 1 would restrict absentee voting and polling hours, ban drive-thru voting, empower partisan poll watchers to intimidate voters, and much more. These provisions are so extreme that President Joe Biden called the previous iteration of S.B. 1 “wrong and un-American.”

We’re so proud of all the brave lawmakers who risked arrest earlier this summer to break quorum — but it was always destined to be a temporary measure, thanks to the Texas GOP’s obsession with attacking our voting rights.

This fight is a stark reminder that the only way we’re going to fundamentally change Texas politics is from the ground up. That’s the mission behind our work at Ground Game Texas — to engage in year-round voter contact and put popular progressive issues on local ballots, bringing tens of thousands of new voters into the electorate and counteracting Republicans’ desperate attempts to silence our voices.

A critical way to support democracy in Texas is donating $5, $10, $20 or whatever amount you can to help Ground Game Texas building progressive turnout in 2022 and beyond. Click here to chip in.

We deserve a state where our elected leaders fight for us, not against us. Thank you for investing today in our fight to create long-lasting change in Texas, friend.
