Meet our new Board Chair
Email from Brand New Congress

John -- For the last four years, I have had the tremendous privilege of serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for Brand New Congress. And what a ride it has been!

I joined Brand New Congress as a volunteer writer in January 2017. As the Writing Team Lead, I helped launch the campaigns of our first recruits -- Cori Bush, AOC, Sarah Smith, Chardo Richardson, Robb Ryerse, Adrienne Bell, and half a dozen more.

A few months later I was asked to join the board as the young organization navigated a challenging transition. For the next 18 months, our entire team dug in DEEP to support our growing slate of candidates.

I’m proud to say that in our first year, one third of our candidates won their primaries, and we made history when we helped AOC become the youngest woman, and youngest Latina, ever elected to Congress.

In 2020 we made history again when we helped Cori Bush defeat a 50-year political dynasty to become the first Black woman elected to represent Missouri in Congress.

Through it all, our small but determined team has poured countless hours of work to keep building our capacity and pursue our mission of electing a Brand New Congress made up of regular working people.

Serving as Board Chair has been the great honor of my life -- and one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in my career. But everything has a season. And this season, for me, has come to an end.

As of this month, I have stepped down from the Board to pursue other work in the movement and make room for new ideas at the table.

That’s why I am so excited today to introduce you to my good friend, and our new Board President, Christopher Noble!

Chris is an attorney based out of Columbus, OH. Fresh out of law school, he worked with both Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats as a Policy Strategist from 2017-2018 before returning to his hometown to practice law.

Today Chris works at the Private Equity Stakeholder Project, a watchdog organization that tracks private equity investment activity and its effects on communities.

Chris also regularly volunteers as a legal observer for protests in Columbus, safeguarding members of his community in exercising their 1st Amendment right to protest.

He returned to Brand New Congress to join the Board in 2019, initially appointed as Secretary before recently being elected Chair.

Chris will be working closely with Adrienne Bell, who joined us as Executive Director in March after previously running for Congress.

I’m excited about the shared vision Adrienne and Chris have for Brand New Congress -- and the movement. As we enter this new phase of growth and development, I know their leadership will set us up for success, and allow us to get even more progressive voices elected to Congress.

Will you join me in welcoming Chris as our new Board Chair by making a contribution to support our ongoing work?

To all of our passionate supporters, thank you for making this work possible.

To all of our candidates, past and present, thank you for stepping up in service to your community. It has been an honor to join you on this journey.

In solidarity,

Cory Archibald
