Your 5 minute phone call could make a huge difference.

John,

The House is in session this week, back from their August recess. And they’re planning to move quickly on passing the budget reconciliation bill.

This budget reconciliation bill is a critical next step in laying the groundwork for as much as $400 billion for Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) over the next ten years. We need that investment to clear state home care waiting lists, improve care jobs, and make sure everyone has access to the care they need and deserve.

Over the next few days, House leadership and committee chairs will determine how the money will be distributed to each priority in the bill. They need to hear from us to make sure HCBS gets the investment it needs.

Will you take a few minutes today to call the House leadership, and urge them to fully invest in HCBS? Click here to find their phone numbers and a form you can use to let us know how your call went.

Making a call to a member of Congress is the easiest and most effective way to let them know what constituents are thinking. And it’s the best way to show our support for HCBS in the budget bill.

Not sure what to say? When you call you can simply read the sample message below, or put it in your own words to let them know why HCBS is so important to you.

Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I live in [YOUR CITY]. I’m calling because I want to make sure House leadership knows that it is important for Congress to make a robust investment in Home and Community Based Care and paid leave. HCBS is essential because it lets people live the lives they want to live, instead of being sent to an institution like a nursing home, and paid leave makes it possible to care for our families without worrying about missing work. [TELL YOUR STORY HERE, IF YOU WANT] Thank you for your time.

That’s it! Then use the form on the page to tell us how your call went.

Thanks for making your call today. Click here to find the office phone numbers of the House leadership who will make the important decisions about HCBS, and make your call today.

With care,
