John,
If you believe that every eligible voter deserves a meaningful say in our democracy -- now is the time to act.
With the Senate in recess, we’re taking this opportunity to ensure our voices are heard around the country by our senators and our President. The recent surge in anti-voter laws emerging from state legislatures is a blatant attack on American democracy and the freedom to vote. So there’s no time to waste in taking action.
That’s why we want to let you know about three upcoming opportunities to get involved:
-
On Tuesday, August 24 at 12 pm ET, we will rally and protest in front of the White House -- and call on President Biden to do what it takes to compel the Senate to pass voting rights legislation immediately. Our goal is to demand bold action by the Biden-Harris administration, including urging the Senate to end the filibuster. RSVP here.
-
Join Common Cause experts on Wednesday, August 25 at 8 pm ET for a virtual event where we’ll discuss the 2020 Census, changes in U.S. demographics, and how this census will impact the passage of the For the People Act. RSVP here.
-
And on August 28, we’ll mobilize with March On for Voting Rights for marches on Washington, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Phoenix, and dozens of other cities across America. We invite you to join as we show up and speak out for voting rights. March On for Voting Rights will be hosting in person and virtual events around the country -- find one and RSVP here.
John, there’s no time to waste. I hope that you can join us for one or more of these important events!
