Friend of Israel,
Three months after Hamas fired 4,300 rockets at Israel over ten days, many Israelis who survived the onslaught are still dealing with the scars.
A recent
Associated Press article
noted “Some Sderot residents say they jump at the smallest noise. Parents report children still wetting their beds or being too scared to sleep alone.”
One Sderot resident said, "It's something that you think about 24 hours a day. You can't escape it, even when you are sleeping”
For many, it’s not just the attacks from this May that have them on edge, but the cumulative effects that have come from enduring years of rocket fire.
“Anxiety, depression, sleeping difficulties and general exhaustion” are just some of the symptoms the article noted that are now common among adults in the area.
This news story is another reminder why the work of pro-Israel Americans like you remains so important.
It highlights why we must continue to work with America’s leaders to support
Israel’s right to exist and defend itself through vital security assistance and diplomatic support that backs the Jewish state’s efforts to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks.
Your support and activism by becoming a member of AIPAC makes that happen. And it’s why I hope you will consider investing in AIPAC and joining today.
As new violence flares up on the Israel-Gaza border, including the protests just this weekend in which an Israeli border guard was shot, and dozens threw rocks and explosives toward Israeli soldiers, our work becomes even more important.
Please show your support of AIPAC by joining before our August fundraising deadline and help ensure we have the resources needed to strengthen America’s support for Israel in the important weeks and months ahead.
Together, through AIPAC and our work with Congress, we can help Israelis sleep a little easier knowing that America has their back.
Thank you in advance for your support.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
