Dear John,

Our patron, Sir David Attenborough once said:

> ALL OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS BECOME EASIER TO SOLVE WITH FEWER
> PEOPLE, AND HARDER - AND ULTIMATELY IMPOSSIBLE - TO SOLVE WITH EVER MORE
> PEOPLE.

Since we launched our anniversary appeal [3] in April more than 380 of our
members and supporters have agreed that solving our environmental problems
_can_ be made possible, if population growth is addressed by both
governments and individuals globally - which is exactly what Population
Matters is campaigning to achieve.

With their support, OUR ANNIVERSARY APPEAL TO ACCELERATE OUR CAMPAIGNS IS
HALF WAY TO ITS £100,000 TARGET.

Can you also give just £30 (or whatever amount you can spare) to our
appeal, joining us and hundreds of others who want to make a better future
possible?

YES, I'LL DONATE [3]

We know the scale and urgency of the changes we need can sometimes paint a
hopeless picture, especially in light of the latest IPCC report on climate
change that states human activity has unequivocally contributed to the
perilous state of our planet.

BUT WE STILL THINK THE GLASS IS HALF FULL.

With heightened awareness across the world, key government-level
environmental meetings on the horizon, and more voices, young and old,
shouting louder than ever before, WE STILL HAVE HOPE - AND THINK YOU DO
TOO.

It is the collective OPTIMISM of everyone around us - including people like
you - who believe that population growth is one of the most critical issues
of our time and that it can be solved positively and ethically, which
inspires us to keep shining a light on the scientific evidence and positive
stories. EVEN IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY.

We encourage smaller families (particularly in the Global North where per
person consumption and carbon footprints are much higher), and ensure that
ethical and empowering actions to achieve a sustainable population can be
made possible globally.

With your support, we can elevate our message of empowerment and
choice-based solutions as being the key to A BETTER FUTURE FOR US AND OUR
PLANET.

DONATE NOW [3]

Addressing population is not the only solution to climate change, the
extinction crisis and other environmental challenges we face. There is much
else that needs to be done - but adding ever more people to the billions
already here makes each of those other solutions more difficult to achieve.

Please help us to keep moving population up the agenda to create a just
world, in which everyone has a decent standard of life and the
opportunities they deserve, and the natural world around us is healthy and
flourishing.

TOGETHER, LET'S PROVE THAT SOLVING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS IS
POSSIBLE.

Thank you very much for your support.
