We are hitting the home stretch for the 2019 local elections, but it's not over yet!

Familia,

We are hitting the home stretch for the 2019 local elections, but it's not over yet!

Our endorsed candidates need your help to make sure they are finishing strong before election day on November 5th. Here are some opportunities to support two of our endorsed candidates. Please do what you can to help us elect the next generation of leaders who will fight for the Latino community here in Houston!

** Sandra Rodríguez
------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a first-generation native Houstonian with strong roots in Southwest Houston. I grew up in the Gulfton neighborhood, the most diverse neighborhood in the city where my environment encouraged me to serve in leadership roles within the community, to be the voice for under-resourced and underserved neighborhoods.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Services, serve as the President of the Gulfton Super Neighborhood Council and work for the City of Houston Health Department. To re-energize, I enjoy spending time with my teenage sons, family and love to dance.

Judith Cruz is a native Texan and grew up in a bilingual, Spanish-speaking home. She is Latina and her mother is from Guatemala. Judith has lived in Houston for over fifteen years, and currently resides in Houston ISD’s District VIII in Eastwood with her husband and three sons. Judith’s three sons attend schools in the Houston Independent School District.

She has over twenty years of experience as an educator and volunteer in public schools. Judith taught at Lee High School (now Wisdom) in HISD, and subsequently was part of the team that created and started Liberty High School in Gulfton, where she was a founding teacher. Judith is a Teach for America alumna that has dedicated herself to working with students and parents across Houston to ensure they have access to information, to quality schools, and a voice in policy-making.
