Hey John,
This week we celebrate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment -- the amendment that gave some women the right to vote. The trailblazers and suffragists who came before us fought to expand women's rights and move us closer to a more prosperous future. But we cannot take their actions for granted.
Women across the state -- and country -- are still fighting for equality today. Laura remains committed to continuing the fight of those who came before us, because women and girls across Kansas deserve the same opportunities as anyone else.
Women are still paid less than their male coworkers, access to reproductive healthcare is under attack, and we're one of the few countries without comprehensive paid family leave laws. And inequality spreads even farther for Black, Brown, and Indigenous women.
As we recognize the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, let's also make a commitment to do better. Add your name to stand up for women's equal rights today.
Thank you,
Team Kelly
